Hi, thanks for stopping in! I’m a customer service rep/tech support/artist/amatuer photographer from Wisconsin. I’m not married, no kids, but I’m engaged.
I’ve been studying religion for 15 years or so, and I’ve experimented with a lot of different schools of thought. I was into Native American/Pagan practices before learning I’m part Chippewa Indian. I grew up in Northern Illinois, in what most people from that area call “Crooked County”. I’m considering becoming a Unitarian or Thomasine Minister at the present. I’ve studied The Bible, The Satanic Bible, Mormonism, Cults, Nordic Mythology, Buddhism, Daoism, Native American lore/practices, the occult (such as Tarot, Numerology, Palmistry), read many books on the paranormal, and even some historical accounts of possession. Nowadays I’m studying Scientology, because it really is something that will change the course of religious history. Reform is always difficult, but good usually prevails.
My other devotion is the elderly. When I was in high school, my first jobs were as Activities or in the kitchen of a nursing home. Also, as part of treatment for my anger problems, the nice folks over at the day treatment place for problem kids (long story) made me volunteer with the elderly also. It was a Godsend honestly, those experiences shaped who I am today. The elderly are to be respected and can teach younger generations so much, if they had listening ears. I remember rainy days, playing Scrabble, and talking about life. Volunteer work is also another hobby.
Education is something that became important for me after high school, which was bad timing. However, after obtaining four vocational degrees and getting good grades, things are starting to look up. As of this time, I’m studying to be a Medical Transcriptionist, which is as hard as everyone said it would be!
About my present living situation, I live in the middle of nowhere and that’s how I like it. Lots of wildlife around, lots of places to go camping, hiking, taking pictures, or fishing. My favorite memory of wildlife is when raccoons busted into the kitchen. There was a screen that raccoon ripped out of the window, and the stinker was trying to eat my cat’s food. Armed with a yellow, plastic bat I tried to shoo it out of the house. It ran when I turned on the kitchen light and made enough noise. When I opened the kitchen door to see if it had left, there were four baby raccoons hanging on the screen door! It was so cute, I still wish I had grabbed a camera at that moment.
Another funny moment was our outside cat battling a skunk over some kibble. Kitty learned after being sprayed that it’s not worth fighting over the small stuff. Oh, and I love animals. I used to volunteer at the Humane Society, cleaning out cages is dirty work but someone has to do it.
That’s all I can think of at the moment.
